Description
The department was formed in 1984 for theoretical and applied researches in interaction of optical radiation (including laser one) with various media.
Main directions of research:
- development of methods for laser cooling and localization of atoms and ions in gas and plasma media;
- modeling of processes of structure formation of the Coulomb systems in the field of laser radiation;
- development of the theory of dispersible media optics;
- development of algorithms and methods for rigorous and approximate analysis of integral and polarisation optical characteristics of polydispersible suspensions of structured and aspherical particles;
- development of new optical express (distant and contact) methods for water ecosystem monitoring;
- study of natural ecosystems with biophysical methods.
